The most critical part in this kit is the Deaver leaf springs. 11 thin leaves in each pack, anti-friction pads between each leaf, rebound wrap, military front wrap, diamond cut ends, and 4 piece bolt through retaining clips. Each leaf is thin, therefore will flex very easily. Stacking so many leaves takes the arch out of the spring which makes the ride more progressive and smooth. Rear spring center has been relocated back to center your tire in the wheel well. You will no longer feel every crack in the road, bucking down the highway! Now, you can finally enjoy your classic Blazer due to the excellent ride quality these springs provide, both on and off-road.
The springs are dampened with Fox 2.0 IFP smooth aluminum body shocks and steering stabilizer. The precision metal impact aluminum body increases cooling capacity and will never rust. Inside you will find our race-proven performance valving technology, Internal Floating Piston (IFP) mono-tube design separates the shock oil from the high-pressure, nitrogen-charged gas chamber. The IFP eliminates oil aeration allowing maximum performance from the factory-tuned precision valving. The race developed high flow damping piston matched with application specific valving provides the Performance Series 2.0 IFP shock a predicable ride quality capable of handling the roughest road conditions. Base kit includes single shocks and steering stabilizer, dual stabilizer kit is an upgradable option.
The front shackle kit increases the bolt size from 7/16" to 1/2" and increases the side-plate thickness to 3/8" for improved durability. The bolts are Grade 8 for maximum strength. The front shackles 1/2" longer than stock to help keep your lift springs from hitting the frame plus gold zinc plate them for corrosion resistance. The greasable shackles use drilled and cross-drilled bolts and drilled inner sleeves to channel grease to the bushings. You'll get longer bushing life, a smoother ride, and virtually eliminated squeak with the greasable kit. Hard compound bushings for greater bushing life and recently upgraded to a 4130 chromoly steel sleeve for even more durability. The larger bolt is 30% strength upgrade, drilling the hole to make the bolt greasable gives back only about 1% of that strength. Greasable systems are a win-win for strength and durability/longevity.
Grade 8 bolts included for all spring eyes and shackles.
Kit includes all polyurethane spring eye and shackle bushings. Your stock rear shackles will be retained, new polyurethane bushings included in this kit. The front spring front eye bushings will need to be cut and sanded to fit front spring hanger, they come extra wide.
Heavy duty 5/8 diameter u-bolts for both front and rear axles. Rear also includes u-bolt reversal kit, 3/8" thick upper retaining plate. This will move your u-bolt nuts and retaining plate to the top of the leaf spring.
Front and rear braided stainless extended brake hoses included. All hoses are made to factory specifications & have the correct male, female, or banjo fittings.
Rounding out the kit is a 4" raised steer arm. If you plan on serious off-roading, we highly recommend the optional crossover steering kit with new PSC steering gear to completely eliminate all bump steer.
Crossover steering option includes $300 core for your old box. This will be refunded when core is returned to Redhead. Replacement Redhead box will include return shipping label.
We recommend running a 33" tall tire with this system.
