The GM 4L80E 2WD transmission adapter to the GM NP205 is 4.00 in length. And the overall length of this transmission and adapter is 30.00". Adapter material is 356 T-6 heat treated aluminum alloy. The adapter has a provision for a factory GM transmission mount. The adapter kit includes an adapter housing, new input with 32 spline, input gear bearing, gaskets, seal, fastening hardware and adapter instructions.
The adapter assembly fits 1971-84 GM NP205 with a figure 8 front bolt pattern, and is designed to replace the 10 or 27 spline male inputs. If the GM NP205 is equipped with a 32 spline female input, the new 32 spline input that is included in the kit will not be needed. Call our tech line for more info.

The adapter kit is designed for exclusive use with the GM 2WD 4L80E. The 2WD 4L80E must have a 6-1/2" slip yoke output shaft. A GM 2WD 4L80E output shaft speed sensor must be used
The 4L80E transmission is normally equipped with an internal reluctor ring on both the transmission input
shaft and output shaft. The computer takes both of these reading for the proper shifting and operation of this
transmission. We have always ignored the reluctor ring requirement for this transmission since it is internally
regulated. We have now learned that the rear reluctor ring is not always installed into the transmission. The
basic rule of thumb is 4WD transmissions up to 1996 should have a rear reluctor ring in the main transmission
case. All 2WD transmissions should have the rear reluctor in the main transmission case. The 1997 & newer
4WD 4L80E transmissions had a sensor provision; however, the reluctor ring in the transmission was left out.
Make sure the transmission you plan on using has the rear reluctor ring installed for proper operation of this
